Broncos “counting on” Carlos Henderson after lost rookie season

There was some speculation that the Broncos might part ways with Emmanuel Sanders and/or Demaryius Thomas this offseason, but both veteran wide receivers remain on the roster.

The Colts knew the risk of trading back from No. 3 would be losing out on both Chubb and Barkley. Good thing they can stay in-state and look to South Bend for a stud at a position of need. It doesn’t matter whether Nelson plays inside or outside — the Colts could use his athletic, mauling presence to boost both the running game and the Andrew Luck-led passing game.

The Bucs went to work on their defensive line via free agency and trades (JPP, Vinny Curry, Beau Allen and Mitch Unrein), and they also got a much-needed rock for the middle of their offensive line (Ryan Jensen). But Tampa Bay’s secondary still needs to be addressed after the re-signing of Brent Grimes for one year. Ward has shutdown potential as the best pure cover man in the draft, and he would represent the best player available, too.

Via Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Rams and Patriots have talked about a deal involving Cooks over the last month and that the Rams preferred it to continuing to pursue a possible deal for Beckham.

The trade comes a little more than a year after the Patriots sent a first-round pick and a third-round pick to the Saints to acquire Cooks and a fourth-round pick. He caught 65 passes for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns during his one regular season in New England and caught 10 more passes for 155 yards in the playoffs before being knocked out of the Super Bowl with a concussion.

There was some talk of an extension for Cooks in New England as he’s entering the final year of his rookie deal. He’s set to make $8.5 million this season and it will be up to the Rams to find a way to hold onto him while also trying to hammer out a new deal with defensive tackle Aaron Donald.bills_124
